Five Garden Birds you can Attract with Peanuts

You don't have to spend a fortune and break the bank to attract birds into your garden. I probably do spend a little bit more than I should but that's just me. I have four bird feeders up in my garden that I alternate between peanuts, feed mix and fat balls. Fat balls and seed mix are a treat for the birds because they are a lot more expensive than peanuts. But as I've already said, that's just my choice.
You can buy peanuts in bulk off the internet and get them delivered and I've found this is the cheapest way of doing it.
You don't have to live in the countryside to have wildlife in your garden, even city and suburban gardens can have a fantastic array of bird life, and here are a few of the birds that I attract with just a simple feeder full of peanuts!

Chaffinch

Coal Tit

Gold Finch

Great Spotted Woodpecker

Great Tit

Other ways that you can attract birds into your garden could be to put out a bird bath for them, or why not put up a nesting box? (not south facing, and out of the reach of grey squirrels and cats). If you have a lot of moss or a pet that sheds a lot, why not hang some moss up for the birds to take as nesting material?

What birds do you see in your garden?

  1. Great pictures of your visitors. I was SO excited to see the Goldfinch on Sunday. We get lots of starlings, robins, blackbirds and then there was a Great Tit on Sunday!

  2. Amazing photos! I am very jealous of all your visitors - no matter what we put out we only get loads of sparrows plus the occasional Great Tit. We only have a balcony though - a real garden would attract more birds, I'm sure.
